Three police officers from Jogoo Rd police station have been arrested for allegedly aiding the escape of serial killer Masten Millimo Wanjala.
Police Inspector Philip Mbithi, police constable Boniface Mutuma, and Constable Precious Mwende are in lawful custody.
They were arrested by their colleagues from the Nairobi Regional Criminal Investigations Office. They will be charged in court for aiding escape from lawful custody and neglect of official duty contrary to sections 124 and 128 of the Penal code respectively
The self-proclaimed killer, who murdered more than 10 children in cold blood, escaped from police custody on Thursday evening.
Wanajala was to be arraigned in court on 13th Wednesday but was reported missing in a police cell at Jogoo Police Station.
