Celebrated Harambee Stars legend Dennis Oliech is the latest public figure to share his thought on the recently appointed Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Caretaker Committee.
According to the veteran Kenyan international, CS Amina Mohammed’s disbandment of the Nick Mwendwa team and subsequent appointment of a caretaker team has worsened the state of football in the country.
Oliech revealed he had hoped that the cabinet secretary would select individuals experienced in football rather than going for people who operate in other fields.
Taking to his Facebook page, Oliech did not spare governing bodies Federation of International Football Association ((FIFA) and Confederation of African Football (CAF) on how they also handled the situation.
Oliech also revealed that he had hoped the two governing bodies would intervene and salvage the situation amicably instead of threatening the country with a ban.
The committee will be chaired by retired Justice Aaron Ringera and has a six-month mandate. Amina’s move followed an audit report on FKF forwarded to her desk by Sports Registrar Rose Wasike.
Oliech are previously indicated his willingness to a role in the country’s football management.
In a previous interview, he disclosed that he would be vying in the forthcoming Football Kenya Federation (FKF) elections in 2024.
