Family honors Caroline Kangogo’s wish as she is laid to rest

The family of the late Caroline Kangogo are currently holding her funeral service as she is set to be laid to rest at her father’s home in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County.


The former police constable who reportedly killed two people before taking away her life is being buried according to Christian traditions and not cremation as she had wished.

However, the family has has kept at least one of her wishes after they dressed her in a white gown on her final journey.

Prior to committing suicide, Kangogo had left a note in which she requested to be dressed in a pristine white wedding dress.

To my parents, I am requesting my body be cremated to end your suffering. Remember to take care of my children. Kangogo will not be accorded the police honors as common in funerals of departed servicemen.
