Fredrick Muitiriri Lands New Job, Days After Leaving Switch TV

Former Switch TV News Anchor and Managing Editor John Fredrick Muitiriri has joined TV47 days after leaving the Red cross owned media house.

Switch Tv shut its on-air operation thus rendering a majority of staff among them Muitiriri jobless.

The affected employees had their contracts coming to the end on 31st Dec 2021.

And when his day was due at Switch, The highly talented presenter took to his social media page announcing his departure from the youthful station.

“After almost two years serving Switch TV Kenya, lights have been switched off. It’s an end of an era. As some may be aware, the station has moved on to a different direction which meant closing down of our Newsroom” stated Muitiriri.

But barely one week, The former Inooro Tv presenter is back again.

In a Promo he shared on his Twitter account, Muitiriri Will soon be unveiled as a Swahili news anchor at TV47.

”On Dec 31st 2021, my former station officially closed & rendered many of us jobless, COVID-19 manenos, but by 5th of Jan 2022, God had already opened a new door at TV47, Home of Untold Stories! I serve a God who neither sleeps nor slumbers. He is a kind God, you can Trust Him” Twitted Muitiriri.

 

The Kenya Institute of mass communication alumni, had also a 5 year stint at Standard media group where he was a presenter at Radio Maisha.

Switch media LTD group Chairman, Sahil Shah, on December 10, 2021, announced that they would focus on the digital space instead. The decision to go fully digital, according to Shah, was influenced by the market demands and that the media house would be building the new strategy.

The decision to shut on-air operation saw the entire editorial team send on parking.
