Kesses member of parliament Dr. Swarup Mishra alias Kiprop Arap Chelule has become the talk of town in his Uasin Gishu county backyard after funding an antiquated project using CDF money.

The revered academician and medical doctor turned politician funded the building of a grass-thatched shade reinforced by wood for Cheptiret boda boda operators.

Proud of his outdated accomplishment with an input from area member of County assembly, honourable Tenai, the two leaders attached a board with their names inscribed on it to acknowledge their work.

The shade constructed by the second term MP who was first elected on a Jubilee ticket in 2017 has since attracted a lot of criticism from locals who say that Mishra is taking them for a ride.

The gold-ring wearing MP who has his roots in Odiasha, Eastern India is however not new to such controversy.

On march this year, Mishra came under heavy criticism after it launched a TV set at an event that was conducted at Cheplaskei Peace Center in Kesses constituency under the full glare of cameras.

In the photos that went viral thereafter, the lawmaker was captured cutting the bluish and golden ribbons on the 70 inch TV mounted on the wall as some youth watched from a distance.

The MP claimed that the TV set which came with the DStv dish will help the youth to watch their favourite channels during leisure time.

Locals could not understand how a man of means such as Mishra whom they entrusted with the duty of representing them could be mean to that level.

Mishra first came to Eldoret in 1997 after his wife got a job at Moi referral hospital Eldoret as a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology.

He also, later got a job at Moi university’s school of medicine as a lecturer in the reproductive department.

Mishra would later change from academics to business where he launched his own startup, Mediheal Hospitals and in 2017 he successfully clinched the Kesses seat.
