Kembi Gitura’s Appointment As The Kemsa Board Chairman Revoked By The President

President Uhuru Kenyatta revoked the appointment of Kembi Gitura as the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency Kemsa’s Board Chairman.


The Former Senator’s position will be taken over by Mary Chao Mwadime from 31st April 2021, In a Gazette Notice dated 28th April 2021, Mary has been appointed for a period of three years.

The former Kiharu Member Of Parliament was allegedly involved in the corrupt supply of Covid-19 equipment that involved billions of public money.

Kembi was recently transferred to Communications Authority, pending the ongoing Ksh 7.8 billion at the authority.

In the same Gazette Notice, Cabinet Health Secretary Mutahi Kagwe disbanded the previous board and named a five-member team.

The new appointees are Captain (Rtd) Lawrence Wahome, Robert Nyarango, Terry Ramadhani, and Linton Kinyua. They will serve as Kemsa board members for a three-year term with effect from 30th April.
