Makueni County Governor Kivutha Kibwana has changed his tune and announced that he is fully supporting the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
In a press conference on Monday, February 22, Kibwana who was flanked by his Machakos Counterpart Dr. Alfred Mutua said he changed his tune after meeting with MCAs from their respective assemblies on Monday.
“During public participation, residents of my county said the increase in revenue to counties from the current 15% to 35% would greatly change their lives,” Kibwana reiterated.
“I have listened to the voice of the people in from my county in the just concluded BBI Public Participation forums. Wananchi said the 15 percent revenue allocation to counties had greatly transformed rural economies. In that regard, and therefore I wish to respect the will of the people and ask MCAs to do the same,” The 2022 Presidential candidate added.
Kibwana together with Narc-Kenya Leader recently launched Linda Katiba Movement with an aim to galvanize Kenyans in rejecting the BBI.
