Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr, Johanna Ng’eno has been freed on a Sh1million cash bail with an alternative bond of Sh2million.
Ng’eno was arrested on Monday in Narok after he made offensive utterances against President Uhuru Kenyatta and his family. He committed the offense during a thanksgiving ceremony at the home of the late Joseph Waitakei in Transmara West.
Johanna Ng’eno had appeared before Nakuru Chief Magistrate, Elizabeth Usui via zoom meeting. He was charged with two counts of offensive conduct and hate speech.
While granting him the bail, the court barred Ng’eno from making utterances that may cause a breach of peace and cohesion.
The case will be mentioned on October 12.
