Interior PS Dr Karanja Kibicho said that the preparations for Mashujaa Day celebrations that is scheduled to take place in Kirinyaga County are almost complete.
Speaking to the press, the PS said that the altercation between Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and the County Women Rep Wangui Ngirici that led to both their billboards being brought down has been resolved.
He said that two billboards for President Uhuru Kenyatta and for Governor Waiguru will be erected across the roads and other strategic places within the county from today.
Kibicho was speaking after he inspected the Ksh 300 million Wanguru Stadium project where the celebrations will be held.
He added that the project is at 95% complete and that the decorations will commence this coming Friday.
“The County Commissioner’s residence in Kirinyaga County is now complete. It’ll be part of the State Lodge in Kerugoya Town. We’ve also delivered Phase I of the Kirinyaga Central Sub-county Police Station ahead of Mashujaa Day celebrations next week,” He said.
He also revealed that the invitation letters have already been sent to the guests who will be in the stadium on 20th October and that only 2000 people will be allowed inside the stadium in line with the Covid-19 protocols.
