President Mnangagwa Hands Tools Of Power To His Deputy, Goes On Leave

Zimbabwe President  Emmerson Mnangagwa has handed tools of power to the vice president General (Rtd) Dr. C.G.D.N Chiwenga.

This is according to the Chief Secretary to President Dr. Misheck Sibanda.

Mnangagwa will then officially start his annual leave of three weeks.

“His Excellency the President Dr. E.D Mnangagwa started his annual vacation yesterday January 13, 2022. His vacation which runs until February 5, 2022, will be spent in the country,” the statement said on Friday.

According to a statement released by Chief Secretary to the president and Cabinet Misheck Sibanda said Mnangagwa will spend his vacation in the country, mostly at his farm.

“His vacation, which runs until February 5, 2022, will be spent in the country,” he added.

Mnangagwa took over as President of Zimbabwe on 24 November 2017. He is
79 years old.
Mnangagwa won the 2018 elections by gaining 50.8 percent of votes with all the 10 provinces declared, as his opposition leader Nelson Chamisa gained 44.3 per cent.
