West Pokot Governor Prof. John Krop. Lonyangapuo has banned idling in towns within the county.
Lonyangapuo claims a majority t locals have developed a tendency of leaving home early in the morning and trooping to the town to just idle around.
Speaking in Makutano town, the county chief argued that the county is losing a lot economically since the said idlers do not add economic value to the county
“Idleness is going to be our immediate enemy in the coming times. People just spend their days chewing gum and eating maize around,” the governor said.
He asked the resident to find something meaningful to do instead of lazing in town gossiping the whole day, noting it will soon be illegal to idle in town
“You find upright and idle people rotating here the whole day but they cannot point a finger at what they did of value,” Lonyangapuo added.
