Deputy President Dr. William Ruto has laughed off the 2022 political alliance between ODM leader Raila Odinga and his Wiper counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka.
Ruto challenged the two National Super Alliance (NASA) principals to focus on service delivery to Kenyans rather than uniting to defeat him.
The DP was speaking in Kangundo during the burial ceremony of Raphael Munavu’s wife Salome on Saturday, June 12, where he said leaders should be driven by the need to serve and blocking ones’ ambition.
“I heard Raila and Kalonzo want to come together so that they can defeat me, that the only way to stop me from the presidency is by joining forces. You cannot just unite merely because you want to defeat somebody. What happens if you don’t defeat him? They should tell us what their agenda is, defeating me is not what Kenyans need,” he said.
Even though he told Raila and Kalonzo to stop being jittery about his 2022 presidential bid, the deputy president welcomed the duo unity calls saying the hustler movement would beat them together.
“Muthama is organizing the hustler vehicle that will carry all hustlers. We started this journey to unite the country; they now want to form a coalition. That is a good idea but they should not think about tribal formations,” he added.
