Police in Kirinyaga County are holding a teacher who allegedly slashed a colleague with a machete in a love affair involving a female colleague on internship.
According to OB reports, the incident took place at Karoti Girls’ High School after the suspect attacked his colleague in the staffroom after he accused him of having an affair with his partner.
The incident caused drama in the school with students leaving their classes to watch as their teacher, Mr. Alfonse Orina, was rushed to hospital with injuries on the head.
The lady in the drama is reportedly a fourth year student who was at the school to undertake her teaching practice.
Confirming the incident, Mwea East police boss Daniel Katavi said that the matter was reported at Wang’uru Police Station.
“The two male teachers are in a love affair with one female teacher. We have also recovered the weapon he reportedly used to attack his colleague in the school compound,” he said.
He said that the suspect would be charged with attempted murder.
